palm beach house

A new 4 bedroom house located on a steeply sloping site looking south-west over the Pittwater basin. The new house is constructed upon a large sandstone plinth that links into an existing terrace that remains from the original cottage cut into the side of the hill. The new bedrooms are located within a weatherboard clad upper level, and have each been separated by voids that drop light through the building and down onto a large open plan living space below. Subtle references have been made in the architecture to the surrounding maritime environments.

Construction : Dry sandstone walls, broom finished concrete, aluminium sliding doors, honed finished sandstone pavers/tiles, solid oak timber joinery, oak flooring, timber ceiling linings, steel handrails, native vegetation.

Progress : Under construction
