canterbury town houses

The sub-division of a block of land south of Canterbury Station into three equally sized townhouses. Each of the townhouses are constructed almost entirely of brick and have been assembled around three private courtyards. Various window types have been playfully positioned onto the courtyard and provide different connections between each of its surrounding rooms.

The upper bedroom levels have been elongated in a east-west orientation with the northern corner block creating a double height wall to Canterbury Road. From the eastern park elevation the buildings mass is clearly divided into three volumes with their roof forms sculptured to direct light into the courtyards behind.
