“Inspired by Marion Mahony Griffin’s sentiment that “a tiny house, like a tiny temple, can be the perfect work of art”, Benn and Penna Architects have added an elegant and sophisticated living pavilion to the existing ensemble of structures on this remote site”

“Benn and Penna’s new building stands a little apart from the other nearby pavilions designed by Beverley Garlick Architects, but is linked by a covered walkway. The curved roof forms of the existing buildings have informed the stadium footprint of Benn and Penna’s new building, which is also clad in corrugated Colorbond, the horizontal lines accentuating its curvilinear form. This is a building that’s meant to be viewed in the round”

“Internally the atmosphere is introverted and contemplative; externally the building is neat and self-contained – like an oversized piece of farming equipment or the smartest of contemporary farm sheds”

“We couldn’t be happier with the beautiful building that Benn and Penna have designed for us at our rural property. Despite the logistical difficulties in designing for and building in a remote, fire-prone location, the whole process went extremely smoothly from beginning to end. Benn and Penna are deeply consultative in their approach, and helped us find an excellent local builder with whom they worked in a very productive and harmonious collaboration”

“The design concept Benn and Penna arrived at perfectly suits our needs and provides us with great aesthetic pleasure. We couldn’t recommend them more highly”
